At MCRH, we offer a full spectrum of services to effectively treat infertility issues. We understand that there are extremely personal factors to consider when choosing the appropriate treatment plan for you and your family, such as emotional, religious, ethical, and financial. We supply our patients with information regarding costs and effectiveness of options, which empowers them to enroll in a treatment plan that fits their specific needs.
It is often said that medical care represents a synthesis of medicine and science. Let’s face it, understanding the large number of medications that are available can be very overwhelming. There are many oral and injectable medications that can be used to optimize your chances for conception, each possessing advantages and disadvantages. There are also many protocols that have been developed internationally, using these medications, to help you conceive. Given the diversity of medications, and protocols, it is important that your treatment plan is tailored specifically for you. Dr. Corfman and his team make sure that they are aware of recent advances in infertility medicines, and are skilled in helping you choose the medical approach that is best for you. Our team takes pride in helping you safely administer what can be a seemingly overwhelming number of medications. By educating and preparing you before you begin treatment we can help lower your anxiety, helping you pass through this part of your journey with a minimal amount of stress.
A full range of oral and injectable medications may be prescribed by our team at MCRH to effectively improve ovulation abnormalities in women and sperm production in men. When necessary, we prescribe these medications to optimize chances for ovulation, a healthy pregnancy, and a healthy baby. After careful consideration of the risks, benefits, and costs, which accompany the medications, an effective treatment plan is prepared.
Ovulation strategies are often combined with intrauterine insemination (IUI) for a more effective treatment. Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a procedure that involves placing sperm into a women's uterus through a catheter during ovulation. When needed, this technique can improve chances for adequate numbers of sperm to reach the fallopian tube, leading to fertilization of the egg.
By gently placing a tiny catheter through the cervix and into the endometrial space millions of sperm can be placed, bypassing the cervical mucous. This technique can be used to increase the chances for pregnancy for patients who have low sperm counts, or for patients in which sperm may have a difficult time entering the endometrial space, on their way to fertilize the egg in the fallopian tube.
