Selecting an IVF Program

When facing the potential for fertility evaluation and treatment, selecting a medical practice can be a time-consuming and emotionally draining process. The choice may appear daunting because there’s so much at stake.

It is wise to compare IVF success rates of clinics that you are considering while keeping in mind that there are many patients who are treated successfully without the need for IVF. You may want to prepare a list of questions to ask a clinic when you call. Key factors to consider are whether the physician is a reproductive endocrinologist, procedures offered, treatment costs and insurance participation. You also must feel comfortable with the physician and the practice as a whole. Do they answer your questions patiently or do you feel rushed? Are you just another patient or are you the patient that they appear concerned about?
