Receiving Donor Eggs

While donor egg cycles are more complex than a typical IVF cycle, you can rest assured that our experienced team will guide recipients and donors throughout the process.

Many couples are choosing egg donation as an option as it affords outstanding success rates. Through egg donation many couples are able to experience the joys of pregnancy and parenthood. MCRH’s donor egg success rates far exceed national averages and we are well skilled at meeting the physical and psychological concerns of a donors and recipient couples.

Midwest Center for Reproductive Health Detailed, non-identifying information is provided on all prospective donors. During an IVF cycle the donor undergoes ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval at the same time that the recipient receives estrogen replacement in order to prepare her uterine lining for the embryos. On the day of the egg retrieval, the donor recipients spouse/partner will provide a semen collection to be used to fertilize the eggs retrieved from the donor.

After fertilization, the embryos are transferred into the recipient’s uterus. Excess embryos may be frozen/cryopreserved for subsequent embryo transfer cycles.
